OVERVIEW
I went into this map with a rough idea of how I wanted the layout to be and the assets I would be using. After learning the basics of Valve Hammer Editor through the documentation and playing around in a test map, I began work on the aim map with a combination of this knowledge and my previous experience in other 3D modelling software.
By utilising the entity system I could manipulate many visual effects, such as the sun, fog, and other sources of lighting. Alongside this, I also gained a higher understanding of Cubemaps and material painting. The entity system also provides the tools for setting up the basic mechanics of a Counter-Strike 2 map, such as spawn points, buy points etc.
By learning how to upload the map to the Steam Workshop, I could test how the map was by playing with friends, and then upload it for anyone to play.
